About
My interest is focused in understand the structure and organisation of ecological communities, based on interactions and assemblage rules which determinates actual species composition. As study models, I have worked with plant-pollinator interactions affected by alien species (plant and insects) and weeds from crops in central Chile. Complementary to my main research interests, I have participated in projects that try to understand the mechanisms of plant speciation, from both micro- and macro-evolutionary perspective; in this topic, we have centered in study the phenotypic variation in flowers of Chilean Mimulus (Phrymaceae), a genera that serve of model to eco-evolutionary studies. Other academic interests are related with environmental education, social ecology, environmental philosophy and bioethics.
